Midas' Project Spark, in collaboration with NAPA, gifted a refurbished vehicle to U.S. Air Force Veteran Scott Shaff in Centennial, Colorado, enabling him to continue his volunteer work and secure steady employment.

Midas’ Project Spark recently gifted a refurbished vehicle to a U.S. Air Force Veteran in Centennial, Colorado, as recently shared with NOLN.

Scott Shaff served six years in the U.S. Air Force during Operation Enduring Freedom, followed by two years in the active reserve and five years as a high-clearance contractor in Afghanistan.

Upon returning home, he began volunteering with the local American Legion and joined the board of a mental health nonprofit, where he helps with organizing events, fundraisers, free workshops, and school-based suicide prevention programs.

However, Shaff has struggled to identify steady work, with unreliable transportation being a massive hurdle for him.

Keith Lundquist, vice president of Midas Division Operations at Leeds West Groups, heard Shaff’s story, and wanted to help. The Midas franchise shop in Centennial refurbished the vehicle for Shaff, with parts donated by NAPA.

The refurbished 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was gifted to Shaff on April 10 onsite at the Midas store, allowing Shaff to continue his volunteer work, secure a steady job, and spend time with his children.
