Chevron Relocates Headquarters to Texas, Makes Senior Leadership Changes
Chevron Corporation has announced the relocation of its headquarters, as well as senior leadership changes within the company, in a recent press release.
New Headquarters
The company’s current headquarters in San Ramon, California, will be moved to Houston, Texas. Chairman and CEO Mike Wirth and Vice Chairman Mark Nelson will both also be relocating to the Houston area before the end of the year.
The approximately 2,000 employees the company has in California will experience minimal impact as a result of the change, according to Chevron, which will include all of its corporate operations migrating to Houston over the next five years.
Leadership Changes
Nigel Hearne, executive vice president of oil, products, & gas, is retiring from Chevron after 35 years. He’s led the company’s consolidation of upstream, midstream, and downstream businesses since 2022. Vice Chairman Mark Nelson will begin overseeing oil, products, & gas beginning Oct. 1.
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Rhonda Morris will also be retiring after 31 years of working with Chevron. Since 2016, she’s overseen the company’s people and culture strategy, which has included leadership succession, learning and talent, diversity and inclusion, workforce planning, and total rewards.
Vice President of Human Resources, Oil, Products & Gas Michelle Green will fill Morris’ role beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
Colin Parfitt, vice president of Midstream, has worked with the company for 29 years, and is now retiring. Parfitt has overseen Chevron’s shipping, pipeline, power and energy management, and supply and trading operating units since 2019.
Andy Walz, who is the current president of America’s Products, will transition to becoming president of downstream, midstream & chemicals, beginning Oct. 1.
