Two separate recalls were issued by Hyundai.

Hyundai Motor America issued two separate recalls yesterday, impacting a total of almost 67,000 vehicles, reports USA Today.

Failing Fuel Pumps

The 2019-2023 Genesis G70, 2022-2023 Hyundai Elantra N, 2022-2023 Hyundai Kona N, and 2019-2022 Hyundai Veloster N were all recalled for fuel pumps potentially failing and leading to loss of motive power.

Owners will receive notices in the mail by Sep. 9. Dealers will be instructed to update the engine control module software, and to inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly as needed.

The fuel pump recall comprises the largest bulk of the total recalled population, affecting 54,647 vehicles.

Transmission Control Unit Software

The second recall was for the 2024 Santa Fe due to a software error in the transmission control unit, impacting 12,349 vehicles.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the software error may lead to a vehicle rolling away while in park.

Owners will receive notices in the mail by Sep. 9. Dealers will update the transmission control unit software to remedy the issue.
