Arizona Drivers Advised to Seek Out Additional Vehicle Checkups as Summer Heat Rises
Extreme heat in Arizona is forcing vehicle owners to have their cars checked up more frequently, reports 12 News.
With summer in full swing, much of the country is facing rising temps, especially Arizona, where residents have been gathering online to share that the heat has been causing their backup camera to stop working.
The experiences are affirmed by Dave Martin, a technician at Martin's Auto Repair. With a backup camera in particular, its positioning makes it especially vulnerable to the heat of the sun, leading to it essentially burning up from the inside.
When most electronic functions reach a certain degree of heat, they’ll shut off to avoid further damage, something that Honda’s online manual states will occur with their vehicles.
Martin added that the heat has brought drivers through his shop for a myriad of issues, spanning from radiators to fuel pumps to tires. As summer reaches its peak, he’s advising drivers to have an extra checkup or two performed on their vehicles to avoid problems.
