720K Honda Vehicles Recalled for Fuel Pumps Cracking, Leaking

Oct. 18, 2024
The recall covers internal combustion engine vehicles as well as hybrid models.

Honda has issued a recall for around 720,000 U.S. vehicles over risks of the fuel pump cracking and leaking, according to Green Car Reports.

Covered in the recall are 2023-2024 Accord and Accord Hybrid sedans; 2025 Civic and Civic Hybrid sedans; and 2023-2025 CR-V Hybrid crossovers.

The automaker shared that defective cores may lead to cracks forming inside the high-pressure fuel pumps of these vehicles. While the vehicle is in operation, these cracks can grow and leak fuel, creating a fire risk. In this event, drivers may notice a fuel smell when driving or idling.

Owners of recalled vehicles will not be made aware until at least December, when Honda begins mailing notices. Dealers will be instructed to inspect the high-pressure fuel pumps, and to replace them if deemed necessary.
