A Grease Monkey location in Idaho Falls, Idaho, offered locals a free car seat safety check over the weekend, reports Local News 8.
The event took place on Sept. 28, at Grease Monkey’s shop on Channing Way. Workers and representatives from Little Defenders, Inc., a nonprofit promoting child safety, were on site to demonstrate how to properly install a car seat.
In addition to checking car seats, participants also learned of the danger in buying car seats online, which sometimes don’t meet the same standards those in stores do.
Following the event, Grease Monkey has told anyone who missed it that they are welcome to come by and have their child’s car seat checked or installed, any time.
This isn't the first time the brand has advocated for child safety in vehicles. Tyson Daniels, NOLN Operator of the Year runner-up and owner of 11 Grease Monkey stores across Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada, has been recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for his work in child passenger safety.
