LIQUI MOLY Marketing Director Peter Baumann Retires After 39 Years

Peter Baumann will be succeeded by former deputy marketing director Marco Esser.

LIQUI MOLY’s Marketing Director, Peter Baumann, is retiring from his role after 39 years, as announced in a recent press release.

Baumann first started at the company on Jan. 1, 1986, as an assistant to the management. He eventually took over development of LIQUI MOLY’s marketing department, with the encouragement of the managing director at the time, Ernst Prost.

Prost, who became marketing director in 1990, would then hand that same title to Baumann just three years later before becoming an authorized signatory.

Following Baumann’s official departure on Jan. 1, 2025, his role will be filled by Marco Esser, who’s previously served as LIQUI MOLY’s deputy marketing director and head of corporate communications.

“Such a long history with just as many successes doesn't come along too often,” remarked Esser. “Following Mr. Baumann in this role is a great honor on the one hand, and a huge challenge on the other. We have had a very good, long and intensive period of coordination, for which I am very grateful. And I'm especially grateful for the trust of Mr. Baumann and the staff. I will do everything I can to adequately succeed him.”

When asked how he’s going to spend his retirement, Baumann shared he plans on enjoying his hard-earned time off.

“I mainly want to take care of my family and myself. No appointments, no travel, no meetings. It’s time for something else,” said Baumann. “Time has been in short supply to date. But I'm going to take it all in my stride now.”
