The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently launched a recall query into Honda pickup trucks over failures with the rearview camera, reports Reuters.

Last Friday, NHTSA said it would be opening a query into more than 12,000 model year 2017-2019 Honda Ridgeline trucks.

According to the agency, the rearview camera’s wire harness was manufactured with a material that is prone to breakage from frequent opening and closing of the truck’s tailgate, leading to the rearview camera eventually ceasing to function.

Honda has communicated to NHTSA that it has found a new supplier that will manufacture a replacement harness made from superior materials that will counteract any breakage that may result from bending.
