July 2, 2024
Topics covered will include manager duties, retaining customers and employees, developing training programs, regulatory compliance, safety and OSHA, and more.

The Preventative Automotive Maintenance Association (PAMA) will be holding a three-day management certification course in Phoenix, Arizona, this coming September.

Slated to take place September 24-26, topics covered in the sessions will include manager duties, attracting and retaining customers and employees, developing training programs, regulatory compliance, safety and OSHA, and more.

The first day of the program will consist entirely of instruction on optimizing business operations–specifically, how to offer the best customer experience, leadership strategies that will engage employees, and how every day transactions figure into overall profit/loss statements. These sessions will be led by operators of preventative maintenance centers, and attendees will be encouraged to ask questions.

For the first half of day two, attendees will be provided sessions on best compliance and regulatory practices for businesses, such as strategies for proper waste disposal, labeling, and using receipts to protect your shop from retroactive claims.

The second half of the day will have attendees take an exam on the content they’ve learned, with those who score 80% or higher receiving PAMA Management Certification.

The final day of the event will have attendees participate in hands-on training for managers to apply what they’ve learned. Vendors will also be on-site to showcase their products to preventative maintenance businesses.

Online registration for the event will be available until September 24. Operator pricing for PAMA members is $550, and for non-members it’s $750, though those who send five or more employees to the event are eligible for a 15% discount.
