June 24, 2021—Several repair shops in Rhode Island are having a problem getting vehicle inspection stickers to stick.

According to a report from the Associated Press, the stickers that are applied to the lower right corner on the inside of a windshield keep peeling off. Per the report, the state's Department of Revenue confirmed the issue.

“We are aware of the issue with the inspection sticker adhesive and are working with our vendor, Opus Inspection, to replace this product,” agency spokesperson Paul Grimaldi said in a statement.

Vehicle owners who need to replace their inspection sticker can either have the DMV's Safety and Emissions office in Providence or the Opus office in Warwick do so, or they can have an adhesive replacement and instructions mailed to them.
