May 2, 2022—Bridgestone has announced the introduction of a run-flat tire that utilizes new technology.
According to Forbes, Bridgestone's new DriveGuard Plus offers an improved acceleration experience, better hydroplaning resistance and an improvement of braking in snow.
DriveGuard Plus tires are touted as an all-season touring tire option. The structure involves reinforced sidewalls that provide support when the tire deflates. In addition to this, the tires also utilize a cooling fin technology that redistributes heat.
"When we were designing the next generation of the Bridgestone DriveGuard tire, our goal was to produce a run-flat tire that significantly reduces the trade-offs that consumers may expect," said Mirella Cielo, president, consumer replacement tire sales and marketing, Bridgestone Americas in the Forbes article. "The DriveGuard Plus is an important step toward providing more drivers with extended mobility to help improve their journey."
DriveGuard Plus tires are available now in the United States and Canada.
