BREAKING: U.S. Unveils Baseline and Reciprocal Tariffs on Global Imports
April 2, 2025
Donald Trump on Wednesday announced reciprocal tariffs the U.S. will be imposing on countries across the globe, during a broadcast from the White House Rose Garden.
The announcement follows a 25% tariff on all foreign-made automobiles that was slated to take effect at midnight on Thursday.
Trump shared that the U.S. will impose a baseline 10% tariff on all countries, in addition to reciprocal tariffs imposed on countries that tariff the U.S.
This includes a 34% tariff on imports from China; 20% tariff on European Union imports; 46% tariff on Vietnam imports; 24% tariff on imports from Japan; and a 26% tariff on imports from India.
