Jiffy Lube of Indiana Honors Local Volunteer Helping Breast Cancer Patients
A volunteer with the Indiana Women In Need foundation was recently chosen to be a recipient of Jiffy Lube of Indiana’s Drive To Do More program, WRTV reports.
Jiffy Lube’s program recognizes community members using their own vehicles to make a difference by offering them a year’s worth of complimentary vehicle maintenance services.
After surviving her own battle with breast cancer, Andrea McDonald now puts her time into helping others facing the same struggle.
McDonald's work includes reviewing submissions for help from patients in the state of Indiana, and providing them with a one time grant intended to help with emotional, physical, and financial burdens.
“We walk through the different choices of the support services and then help process their grants so they can begin to receive assistance,” explained McDonald.
The Drive To Do More program has opened nominations for the spring, which can be submitted online now.
“We definitely reach out into the community to help people that are doing more with their family, friends, neighbors,” told Lonnie Hinkle of Jiffy Lube. “Our goal to to find those good things, amplify them and honor those that are going above and beyond to do good things in the community.”
