An automotive shop in Pontiac, Michigan, recently helped local residents acquire vehicle maintenance that would not only keep them from getting a ticket, but also keep them safe, reports WDIV Local 4.
The Pull-Over Prevention Clinic was once again hosted by Chavez Auto Care on Oct. 6, where drivers were offered free maintenance including diagnostic checks, light checks, A/C checks, fluid checks, oil changes, windshield wiper replacements, and brake checks.
Shop owner Tony Jumaa said that at least two or three times a week, he sees drivers pull in his shop over minor infractions like bad bulbs and broken headlights. District 3 Councilman Mikal Goodman shared that the intent with events like this is to minimize drivers’ interactions with law enforcement.
In addition, the Pull-Over Prevention Clinic also held a Resource Fair, which offered attendees vaccinations, housing assistance, pet supplies, and free food courtesy of Uncle Jerry’s BBQ.
