Construction for a Take 5 Oil Change and Take 5 Car Wash co-development in Owensboro, Kentucky is slated to open soon, the Owensboro Times reports.
The facility will be located within a lot of property at 4940 Frederica Street, at the south end of the street in front of the former Towne Square Mall and where a former restaurant called Grandy’s was located. Grandy’s suffered a kitchen fire in December 2021 and never reopened.
The Take 5 Car Wash on the north side of the lot will have a single tunnel, with the oil change segment on the south side of the lot having three service bays.
The property was purchased by Boing US Holdco, Inc. this past May for $1.85 million, with construction costs for the oil change segment costing $900,000 and the car wash segment costing $1 million.
A January release from Take 5 parent company Driven Brands has said that the company has over 50 co-developed locations it plans to open within the next two years.
