Take 5 Oil Change and Take 5 Car Wash has gifted a $1 million donation to the Children’s Medical Center Foundation, according to a press release.
The donation was made to the fundraising segment of Children’s Health, the leading pediatric healthcare system in North Texas, as the organization expands its Children’s Medical Center Plano facility.
The expansion consists of a tower that will expand pediatric subspecialty care programs, including cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, and neurology, and will almost triple the number of available patient beds, increasing it from 72 to 212.
The topping out of the new tower was recently celebrated, signifying the completion of the building’s frame. It’s expected to be completed as a 395,000-square-foot tower by the end of 2024.
Being part of Driven Brands, Take 5’s donation to the project was made through the Driven Brands Charitable Foundation, which has donated over $4 million to children’s hospitals nationwide since launching 20 years ago.
Altogether, over $14 million has been raised from the local community to support the Medical Center’s expansion.
“Community support is part of our culture,” said Driven Brands EVP and COO Danny Rivera. “We have deep roots in the state with more than 300 Take 5 locations in Texas and our teams in the state are looking forward to supporting the expansion of Children’s Medical Center Plano.”
