Lots to Offer in 2021

AOCA is taking industry support to a new level.

The Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) has taken 2021 head on! Our Government Affairs Committee continues to stay at the forefront of issues impacting the industry nationwide. We also launched our revamped Online Technician Academy, opened board nominations, and began accepting submissions for the 2021 AOCA Courage and Leadership Awards. There is so much for us to share this month.

Our Government Affairs Committee has been working hard to make sure all our members are being given the most up to date information regarding small business loans, COVID-19 relief, and so much more. AOCA has also been able to offer members the ability to connect with one another online via AOCA Talk. AOCA Talk is a platform that allows members to ask each other questions about anything and everything within the automotive oil change industry!

The Online Technician Academy has received a recent renovation. The new program launched at the beginning of March. With our new training platform, attendees are able to engage in a more interactive platform that showcases the eight different courses that cover a variety of topics.

Each course has been carefully handcrafted to cater to the automotive oil change industry with your needs at the forefront of the training. The courses cover roles and responsibilities of fast lube technicians, safety 101 in the fast lube center, motor oil functions, oil filter, and that’s only to name a few. To learn more about what this program can offer your shop, head to www.aoca.org/TechAcademy.

The AOCA Board of Directors is composed of active leaders in the industry from across the country. The Board of Directors consists of eight Operator and three Vendor members. The Board election process is led by AOCA’s Nominating Committee and elections take place each spring. Being a part of the Board is essential in making sure that our industry is advancing in the best way possible.

AOCA is always seeking dedicated members who demonstrate leadership and excellence in the fast lube industry to serve on the Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is an honor and an exceptional way to give back to the industry and help shape its future! The deadline to apply is quickly approaching. All applications must be received by April 23, 2021, so fill out your interest form today at www.aoca.org/BoardInterest!

AOCA is excited for this year’s iFLEX taking place in Las Vegas, Nev., from November 15-17. While iFLEX is going to look differently this year, AOCA is ready to comply with all regulations so we can network with one another safely. Aside from networking, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some of the top industry professionals regarding a variety of topics.

At each year’s convention, AOCA enjoys recognizing members of the oil change industry and this year we are introducing a new award, “The Courage and Leadership Award.”

This will be honoring teams of up to 10 employees and highlighting staff team members that do exceptional work in the industry. This year there will be up to 19 winning teams in honor of the tremendous difficulties COVID-19 presented the industry. All nominees will have an opportunity to be featured on AOCA’s website and other related publications. Award recipients will receive a certificate of achievement and a bag full of cool gear sponsored by many AOCA vendor members. To find out more about the rules and to nominate your team, visit www.aoca.org/LeadershipAwards2021.

As 2021 continues to unfold, AOCA is honored to be able to serve the automotive oil change industry.
