Ford last month celebrated the opening of its first two Quick Lane Tire and Auto Centers in China—in Chongqing on February 6th and Nanjing on February 8th. Both locations are owned by Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), making this the first time that a Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center has been company-owned.
Both stores received grand opening events, each well-attended by significant figures at Ford. The Chongqing event was led by CAF CEO Nigel Harris, who also cut the ribbon on the center. Other attendees included Ford Quick Lane Manager for Asia Pacific Marc Zhu; Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) director for CAF Steven Chang; FCSD Vice President for Asia Pacific Nigel Brackenbury; and Jerry Sweetland, Ford Director, China Customer Service Operations.
Two days later, Chang, Brackenbury, and Sweetland joined Ford Retail Limited Chairman and CEO Steve Hood and CAF Quick Lane General Manager Steven Liu for the opening ceremony of the Nanjing Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center. Brackenbury spoke to the audience to mark the occasion, and he and Sweetland undertook the task of cutting the ribbon to open the center for business.
It didn’t take long for the Quick Lane Tire and Auto Centers to start pulling in traffic. The Chongqing store sold 63 pre-paid service and car wash packages on its first day, which equals out to approximately 942 future customer visits.
“Thank you to the over 1,500 customers who have already visited our Quick Lane, some of whom are already repeat customers. Quick Lane offers exceptional value and uncompromising quality. Please continue to visit our Quick Lane and bring your friends, too,” said Brackenbury.
The Chongqing location measures 480 square meters, includes seven service bays and one alignment rack, and employs eight managers and technicians. The Nanjing location covers 520 square meters and features 10 service bays.
