September 24, 2019—Take 5 Oil Change announced on Monday that it acquired Express Automotive Group, a chain of 28 service centers in the Houston area.
“Our Houston customers and employees have been the backbone of Express Automotive Group’s success for over 20 years. From humble beginnings, we grew by providing fast and friendly service to customers throughout the Greater Houston area,” said Greg Cole, owner of Express Automotive Group, in a press release. “We were very impressed with the Take 5 team, from acquisitions to operations, and are extremely confident we are leaving both our customers and our people in the best possible hands. We look forward to watching the future success of the stores as they transition to the Take 5 model.”
Like with previous acquisitions, Take 5 is implementing a military discount in time with the announcement.
This adds to a lot of growth for the company in 2019. Take 5 says that the addition of Express Automotive Group expands its total footprint to 456 locations across the U.S. and Canada, including 148 locations in Texas and 58 just in the Houston metro area. That includes the acquisitions of a Lubbock-based chain in August and another Texas chain of shops in June.
These newest shops will transition to the Take 5 model over the coming months.
