Valvoline Instant Oil Change Proposed for Union Township, Pennsylvania

April 25, 2025
A special exception request for the business was approved by the township zoning hearing board this past Monday.

A proposed Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Union Township, Pennsylvania, has got one step closer to opening, reports New Castle News.

The store would be located at 2613 W. State St., in place of a former Reed’s Services pet store in the C-C Central Commercial District.

Currently, the site plan engineer shared that the store is in a development phase—but it is planned to be a two-bay building with 16 parking spaces, and access from both West State Street and Penn Boulevard. The two buildings currently on site will be demolished, though an existing storage barn will be kept for the Valvoline to utilize.

Township Supervisor Larry Brown shared that residents on Penn Boulevard are concerned about an influx of traffic coming onto their street, and would prefer to see access only from West State Street. As of now, a tentative plan has been outlined for a median curb cut on Penn Boulevard.

A special exception request for the business was approved by the township zoning hearing board this past Monday, and the business will now need permitting approved by the state and township.
