May 3, 2021—Drivers are getting back on the road this year, creating good conditions for needed maintenance services. Writing for the Auto Care Association, director of market intelligence Mike Chung says that in March, vehicle miles travelled in the U.S. reached its highest point since the summer of 2019. Additionally, used car sales are increasing, as raw materials and semiconductor supply chain issues disrupt the new car sector. "With production delays, as well as the possibility for higher priced new vehicles, we may continue to see elevated demand for used vehicles," Chung writes. "As many of these vehicles are likely to be out of warranty, that could bode well for the service side of the aftermarket."
