The International Fast Lube Expo (iFlex) is back for 2019, and it’s bigger and better as part of The Car Wash Show at the Music City Center in Nashville.
Last year’s show in Las Vegas attracted 8,700 attendees, including more than 3,500 fast lube locations, and 400 exhibitors. For 2019, iFLEX promises up-to-date education sessions, peer-level learning and a massive show floor with representatives from all corners of the industry.
On Sunday evening, the Automotive Oil Change Association hosted its welcome reception at the Hard Rock Cafe.
“AOCA’s Welcome Reception at iFLEX is an opportunity for us to thank our members and leadership for their contributions throughout the year. It’s an opportunity for the fast lube community to come together, make new connections, visit with old friends, and kick-off iFLEX on a high note. The event has continued to grow, which we believe to be a sign of the strength of the industry and our association.”
– Bill Floyd, Lucas Oil Centers, AOCA’s 2019-2020 President
Be sure to get an early start today, because the premium pass education sessions start off at 8 a.m. with industry consultant Ragan Holt giving an overview of the state of the fast lube industry. More on Holt and his presentation is elsewhere in this publication.
Monday’s schedule is packed with Integrated Services Inc. CEO Steve Barram hosting an education session titled, “Technology Innovations Affecting our World of Fast Lubes: Road to Survival or Perdition?”
Following that is a presentation from Nancy Friedman, president of Telephone Doctor. Her education session focuses on what she calls the “forgotten art” of fostering a cohesive atmosphere within your operation.
AOCA members can attend the organization’s government affairs meeting at noon.
“There is something to offer every fast lube professional at iFLEX 2019. From our Welcome Reception at Hard Rock Café, to our industry specific training sessions, and the largest trade show the industry has to offer. If you’re looking to grow your fast lube business or become a better operator, Nashville is the place to be.”
– John Lindsay, Power Lube Express Auto Care, AOCA’s Immediate Past President
The trade show floor opens up in the Music City Center at 11 a.m., and the Car Wash Show’s “quick hits” sessions begin at 1 p.m. We’ve got a map for you in this publication.
Available with a basic pass, the quick hits are shorter sessions that tackle topics like investing, customer service, staffing and social media—all topics applicable to both car wash and fast lube operations.
To cap off the day, don’t miss the opening party at 6 p.m.
Tuesday continues with more premium education sessions in the morning, so be on the lookout for the next edition to stay up-to-date on the action.
And of course, welcome to iFLEX!
