National Oil & Lube News offers a comprehensive selection of industry studies available nowhere else. If you are seeking information on the fast lube industry, you will find it here.
Fast Lube Operators Survey
The most in-depth study of the fast lube industry available. Every year, NOLN surveys hundreds of fast lube operators representing literally thousands of fast lube facilities to ascertain the state of the industry. The statistics included are myriad, and include data on ticket averages, car counts, net profit, gross sales, costs, labor, etc. A must-have for anyone seeking information on the industry. Plus, each survey includes five years of data on typical industry facilities, enabling for detailed trend analysis.

Tops in the Industry Study
A "census" of the fast lube industry, this exclusive survey includes detailed information about the leading fast lube "chains" in operation, including data on year-over-year growth in facility counts. Also included is information about the overall size of the industry, including estimated facilities in operation and gross sales estimates for the industry as a whole. As a bonus, the top chains in the oil change-plus category (which includes those companies operating oil change bays as an additional profit center, i.e. Walmart's Tire & Lube Express, tire stores, tune-up shops, etc.) are listed, along with year-over-year growth.

Fast Lube Operators Survey – Regional Breakdowns
As valuable as the data in the Fast Lube Operators Survey is, sometimes it helps to look at the data on a more regional scale. So, every year we take the data from our Operators Survey and break it down into six regions: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Mountain and West Coast. (Note: Breakdowns for 2004 through 2006 are combined in one document.)
The combined Northeast/Southest survey includes data on the states of: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Caroline, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia and Virginia.
The combined Midwest/Southwest survey includes data on the states of: Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin.
The combined Mountain/West Coast survey includes data on the states of: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
